Carey has been a litigator in Vancouver for 32 years. He founded and then managed Taylor Veinotte Sullivan (TVS) in 2001. In January 2020, he moved to a big firm.
Carey is the former Co-Chair of Commercial Litigation nationally at Cassels.
Carey has been recognized by Benchmark Litigation as a Litigation Star for 14 consecutive years and by Lexpert as a top lawyer in Canada in commercial litigation.
Carey started his legal career in 1992 doing criminal law and aboriginal law. Since then, his cases have involved theft of trade secrets, conspiracy, defamation and slander, fraud, securities enforcement, professional liability claims, workplace investigations and business torts. Recently, Carey finds himself acting for Lawyers against the Law Society of British Columbia. Since 2014, Carey has acted for lawyers in Vancouver in the breakup of three prominent law firms.
Carey has appeared at all levels of Court in Canada, and some in the US as well. His clients range from large organizations to individuals.
